THE STORY BEHIND BARWIZARD
In 1996, Sandeep Verma (Sandy) founded the Institute of Bar Operations & Management, which later evolved into BarWizard. His vision was to transform bartending in India into a respected, professional, and rewarding career.
Passion for Bartending & Flair
Despite successful management roles in Dubai and New Delhi, Sandy's true passion remained bartending. Inspired by flair bartending, he believed drinks could become unforgettable experiences through creativity and hospitality.
Identifying a Market Gap
Bartending lacked professional recognition in India. Sandy saw an opportunity to build structured education, skilled professionals, and a complete ecosystem for the industry.
Elevating the Profession
Drawing from international hospitality experience, Sandy introduced flair bartending, mixology, guest engagement, and experiential service to raise professional standards.

As India's hospitality sector expanded, Sandy launched BarWizard in 2003 to discover, train, and celebrate emerging bartending talent.
